SETTLING IN

We finally got a warm day today, so we were out and about around the beach.  Shopping and errands.  I'm determined to enjoy this beautiful day and be outdoors as much as possible, because they are predicting lousy weather for the rest of the weekend.

We went down to the waterfront and all the construction that was going on when we left last fall seems to be all completed now and they did a very nice job of it as well.

The lake is almost completely free of ice now

With no leaves on the trees, you can see the replica lighthouse that the volunteers built for the Beach Centennial. They really need to keep those trees cleared back.  It's nice to be able to see it all the way from the beachfront.

We did a pass through the harbour and of course it is no longer empty.  The official opening of the harbour has occurred.  "Glenn's Boat is Launched."

Sea-Enna is settling in nicely to this idea of having her own yard.  Chasing balls, and finding random sticks to chew on is really keeping her happy.

I rather enjoyed this warm sunny day as well.  Sea-Enna and I sat out enjoying the day until the sun started to dip below the trees.

WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO A LOT MORE OF THIS.

UPDATE

OK!, I know. the pictures are not showing in my blog.  They show up on the computer that I created the blog on, but when I looked at it on my laptop the pictures are not there. They are pictures that Tracy Elizabeth took on her iphone and emailed to me, so I'm looking into what I can do about it. But meanwhile I thought I better let everyone know I am aware of the problem.

I will re-post when and if I find a solution.
Thanks

THE JOURNEY HOME

We took our time coming home this year as it was the first time our daughter Elizabeth had ever driven on a long journey like that.  Our trip consisted of McAllen to Round Rock, just north of Austin the first day.  Day 2 was on to Oklahoma City.  Day 3 we made Council Bluffs and Day 4 we were in Grand Forks.  That made our last jaunt, the next day, an easy one to the border and home, as we had a lot of running around and errands to do before we got home.

We took our time and went out for dinner in fancy restaurants each night.  It made it a long but pleasant trip home.

We really enjoyed ourselves.

It's a good thing we enjoyed that, because it was not a  pleasant home coming for us when we arrived at the beach house.

WE ARRIVED HOME TO A BROKEN WATER PUMP AND A FROZEN WELL.

WE ARE HOME- IF NOT EXACTLY SETTLED.

In my last post we were packed and ready to go.   It went reasonably well.  It takes a while to shut down and close up a trailer.  There is all that patio furniture to put away and as you can see, it did all fit.

There are Fridges to empty.  Water and electric to disconnect.  Slides to put in.

I had to leave my pretty Poinsettia behind.  (No plants allowed across the border.)  It wouldn't survive at home anyways.

Packed the last few things in the vehicles, checked our Walkie -Talkies and we were ready to roll.

It all takes time, but we were at the Bank and on the road by 12:00 noon.

  CANADA HERE WE COME

PACKING UP AND HEADING HOME

It is time to choose what cloths I will pack and which cloths I will leave here for next season.  It's always a chore to decide.  Anything Christmassy, is easy, I am here for Christmas so I leave that here, and a New Year's Eve outfit as well.  I'm always here for St. Patrick's Day , so all our "Green" stuff stays as well

Then once the decisions of what to take and what to leave, is made, I like to take some pictures of my closet and dresser drawers, so that I can remember what I left down here and not bring duplicates next year.  That has happened a few times.

Because no matter how organized I try to be, there is always something I forget and something I have duplicates of.

The other challenge is putting all of this patio furniture away into this little shed.  Although we have had people make bets that we will never be able to fit it all in with everything that is already in there.

It's a challenge, but we manage to do it every year.  It takes some real planning and some real "Spacial thought", but it does all fit.

Sometimes we start to doubt ourselves with everyone saying it won't fit, it won't fit, but in the end we get it done.  I will snap a picture of the packed shed, the morning we leave, as proof.

SO, THAT'S IT, WE ARE ALMOST READY TO ROLL
