WHO ARE WE?

We, "Linda and Dan" were a couple of retired Canadians, who did a north/south circuit every year. Because Manitoba can be bitterly cold in the winter, we spent that part of the year in our 33.5 ft, fifth-wheel trailer, in Paradise Park in McAllen, Texas.

Come April, Texas gets much too hot for our Canadian blood, so at that point, we closed up the trailer and headed North and spent our spring in a little beach house that we were working on in Winnipeg Beach, Manitoba.

Then as summer approaches, we launched our 46 ft Trawler called "Thunderbird" and moved onboard around June 1st. We spend the summer living on board in the marina and cruising Lake Winnipeg and the Red River, until fall. By September 30th the boat got pulled out of the water and stored until next year and we move back working on our little beach house until we headed back down to Texas and start the cycle all over again.

"Captain" Dan was a retired firefighter who retired from the City of Winnipeg Fire Department as a Captain after 37 years of service.

And I am a retired bookkeeper, who retired as the Supervisor of the Accounting Department of a large Winnipeg Law Firm.

Plus of course our constant companion, our beautiful Golden Retriever "Sea-Enna".

Who travels everywhere with us.

This Blog Started back on December 17th, 2010, which was our second year of travel in our little 24.5 ft Springdale trailer.  This was a way to keep our friends and relatives informed as to where we were and what we were up to.  It has since grown from there to be an almost daily blog, whether traveling or not.   It follows us through hauling our trailer from home down south to Texas, East to the Florida Keys, out  West to San Diego and the West coast, then falling in love with the "Rio Grande Valley" settling in and buying a lot in Paradise Park, and the acquisition of a bigger more livable trailer.

Then the decision to sell our condo and buy the beach house before it's time to sell the boat.  "We wouldn't want to miss out on our summers at the lake."  Then the Renos to the Beach House etc.

The other big change is that the "Love of My Life", my companion and mate for 57 years, Dan, passed suddenly on June 24th of 2019, leaving me adrift and having difficulty making decisions right down to if I should even continue this blog.  My posts have been very spotty since his passing so it is obvious that a decision has not been made.
