A FUN BUSY WEEKEND

This was a fun and busy weekend for us.  The park that we used to go to in Weslaco, "Magic Valley Park".  Had their annual MVP Fun Days.  So, on Friday night we hooked up with Sharon and Casey of Loafhaven and went to the MVP dance featuring "The Cruisers", a very popular band in this area.

They play only 50s and 60s stuff, which is just what us seniors like to dance to. Sharon sent me these pictures that she took, which is a good thing because the flash on my camera wasn't working so all my pictures were ruined.  You've got to love the "mickey bottles" on the tables.  Everybody brings their own booze and mix and it sits on the table.  It makes me think of prohibition, or the night clubs that used to be in Winnipeg in the 30s and 40s.

We danced the night away and had a really great time.  We never go dancing at home, but we sure do a lot of it here.  One more reason to come to Texas.

We were very busy on Saturday, with shopping and chores, then on Sunday we went back to "Magic Valley Park", for some more of their MVP Fun Days.  This time it was their parks Amateur Variety Show.  A lot of the entertainment was amateurish and boring, but there were three high lites that I will include here.

First was three guys, busy at the urinals, as they help each other out, to light cigarettes, hold each others beers and "other things".

They had everyone in stitches.

Then there were the guys that did a take off on the "Men's Synchronized Swim Team", that went viral on uTube.

They weren't quite as good as the uTube bunch, but still very entertaining.  There is nothing quite so funny as a bunch of overweight senior men trying to pretend that they are graceful women.

Then last but certainly not least the real reason we went to this Amateur Show, was to see Doug Wheeler, the Captain of Uno Por Rio of Gimli Harbour, do his stand-up comedy routine.

He really was the best thing on the program and well worth sitting through some of the real amateurs, so that we could enjoy his routine.

That's it for now.  Later.
