I have spent the last couple of days working on my desk top computer, switching it over from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I switched my Laptop from Windows 7 to Windows 8, while down in Texas last winter. When I updated to Windows 8, I hated that learning curve and swore I
would never go through that again. But I ended up with Windows 8 on my
Laptop and still had Windows 7 on my Desktop at home. Which doesn't make it easy
to switch back and forth.
I have heard varying opinions on Windows 10. A couple of people I talked to gave me dire warnings of nothing but problems with it. Then I also got the nod from others saying "Go ahead, you will like it. It's kind of a combination of Windows 7 and Windows 8." So to solve my problem I have jumped in with one foot. (only my desk top so far)
Well, there were no real hang ups on the update, it went smoothly. It's looks a little different, but not totally. It is just a matter of figuring out where they have put everything I need. With every update, they always seem to, not only move things, but rename them as well. I went through this last winter down in Texas So here I am going through the learning curve again, to bring them both up to the same standard.
Right now I am trying to get my "Favourites" and my "Contacts and Address" lists switched over to "10". I am also trying to learn IDrive, to put everything on the cloud. I will work with my desk top on Windows 10 until I feel confident about switching my Laptop over. Hopefully that will go more quickly and I will have them both running smoothly before we head south.
THIS SHOULD KEEP ME BUSY WHILE I AM AWAITING DOCTORS APPOINTMENTS.
