I have just
wasted a whole lot of time. On November
25th I placed an order for a small upright freezer to put in my
shed, as the freezer in my fridge is not really large enough. So, yesterday I heard from Walmart that my
new freezer was at the Jackson Ave. Store, ready for pick up.
We arrived,
at the store pick up counter, around 11:30, and they finally brought my freezer
out of the shipping area at 12:30. As we
were walking out of the store we notice that the box the freezer was in was
very damaged, so rather than take it home and find out it was damaged, we decided
to strip the box off of it, before we loaded it onto the truck. I’m certainly glad we did. There were 3 large dents in the door and the rear
corner, was crushed as if it may have been dropped. We immediately piled the remains of the
box and the freezer back into the cart and returned to customer service. We spent another hour there before we could
convince them to refund my money. They did
not have a replacement freezer in stock and wanted to give me a Walmart gift
card. Since Walmart is no longer
accepting Canadian Debit Cards, I told them that I have no intention of shopping
at Walmart this year until they solve that problem.
They finally agreed to a cash refund. So then I
had to come home and ordered one from Amazon.
It’s the exact same freezer, but it cost a little more with the shipping
and all, but it will be delivered right to our door.
OH WELL, THE ONLY REAL LOSS WAS TIME
