Boring Day in Oklahoma

It seems we have developed mechanical problems that can't be seen to until Monday, seeing as how everything is closed for the New Years weekend. So we will be hanging around here until Wednesday morning. Nothing much to do around here except rest. Which is a good thing because we have both come down with colds.

SEA-ENNA

Sea-enna and her toys sure take up a lot more room than they did last year when she was a whole year younger.

New Years in Oklahoma

Well, we weren't going to celebrate New Year's Eve, but Sea-enna insisted on a party. She wanted to have some friends over, but it's turned so cold that we are the only ones left in the park. It's bright & sunny, but cool today. There is still no snow, but it got well below freezing last night and apparently it will again tonight. Then it's supposed to improve back to more seasonal norms of mid 50s.

BOATING ON NEW YEARS EVE.

I hate to Point this out to the Manitoba boaters out
there.

But this is what the Oklahoma boaters are doing on New Years Eve. Granted they have jackets on, but they don't have to chop through the ice.

We Have Arrived.

We are in Lake Thunderbird State Park, just outside Norman Oklahoma. This is like coming home for us as we stay here quite often. Both on our way South or on our way North. When heading South this is our "Start Camping"stop. Today we hooked up all systems, I grocery shopped to get supplies in. etc. etc. When heading back in the spring, this is where we have to stop camping and start moteling. We will be staying here over the weekend and move on to the Dallas area on Monday. This is always a good place to spend New Years Eve.

A Llittle Further South

Today we made it to a Motel 6 in Wichita Kansas. We have acheived brown grass. It was warm enough to start camping today, but we couldn't find a campground that had the power and water on. So we won't be camping until tomorrow when we get to Lake Thunderbird State Park. It was a long a tedious drive today, with pea soup fog and drizzling rain all day. One thing we accomplished was to get far enough south so that System that is supposed to bring sleet and snow to the upper mid west will miss us here.

Today Was a Better Day

We made up some of the lost time. Up at 6:00, packed up and on the road by 7:00. We only stopped for feul and necessities. We managed to make it all the way to Motel 6 in Council Bluffs Iowa. If we get far enough south tomorrow and the temperatures are good, we will sleep in the trailer and feel at home tomorrow night.
