ONE MORE DOWN, 3 MORE TO GO

A lot of the prep work is done, but there is still a lot more to do.

I keep being reassured that once the prep is finished, to their satisfaction, the painting will go much faster. 

I certainly hope so.  I'm getting anxious and my boating clock is ticking.  I hope they can get it done in 3 more weekends.  

JUNE AND MY SUMMER  IS FAST APPROACHING

OFF WE GO FOR ANOTHER WORK WEEKEND AT THE BOAT

Time is ticking by and we are getting distracted.  We have been talking for over a year now about moving out to the lake.  Well this year we have started that process and listed our condo for sale.  That has become a bit of a distraction from what we should be focused on. 
 

We find ourselves thinking of "Where should we look". "What should we look for", "How close to the marina"  How close to the stores and town?  We have driven out to the lake 3 times in the last few days.  We were there on the weekend working on the boat, then Tuesday we went out to look at cottages, then Wednesday we were back out there having another look at one we thought had possibilities and crossed it off of our list.  

We really must turn our focus back to the boat, May 7-8, May 14-15, May 21-22,  May 28-29, then we launch.  After that we will be living on board out in that area and can scout around for what we are looking for at our leisure.  It's time to concentrate and turn our focus back to painting the boat. 

WHERE WE ARE GOING TO LIVE CAN WAIT TILL JUNE

WEEKEND 2 AND WE ARE MAKING SOME PROGRESS

Dan and I were on our own this weekend.  That'll teach me not to pay the hired help in advance.  

But Dan got a lot of sanding and prepping done. I wish I could help him, but I hate to crawl around on the outside of the boat, when it's "on the hard".  It makes me really nervous.    When it's in the water, I will scramble all over it.  If anything happens So I fall in the water, No big deal, but in the hangar, that concrete floor is scary.  

 I think one more weekend and it will be ready to start to put some paint on.   

We took a run down to the harbour and there is some open water around the edges, but the rest looks like Slurpee.  

Outside the harbour is another story.  There is still a lot of ice out there.  I think we need some winds to slosh that ice back and forth across the lake.  That will break it up.  

BY THE TIME OUR 4 WEEKENDS OF WORK ARE DONE THIS ICE WILL BE HISTORY

READY FOR ANOTHER WEEKEND

Dan went shopping and picked up all the supplies and tools we need for the maintenance planned for the boat this spring. 

I'm busy planning and prepping a meal for Saturday night and making list of groceries to take with us.  

I can't really get to my real chores because I would just be in their way.  Maybe I can at least get some sewing measurements.  

IT WILL BE ANOTHER BUSY WEEKEND.  

 

A WORK WEEKEND AT THE BOAT

Busy, Busy, Busy.

We did not get permission to take Sea-Enna out to the hangar, so it was only an over night Saturday, Sunday weekend.  We picked our son, Ken up and dropped Sea-Enna off at Elizabeth's on the way out of town.  

We arrived at the hangars around 9:30 The guys were hard at it by 10:00.  

Meanwhile, I got busy putting things away.  Getting my fridge working, charging the batteries. and putting a heater on to take the chill off the boat for sleeping overnight.  

For a short weekend, a lot was accomplished. We zeroed in on what needs to be repaired before we paint, and we made a list of supplies for next weekend.  It was certainly a good start.  

 
Then today, Surprise, Surprise, Bob Inkster walked in.   Looking good, for a guy that just had half of his leg amputated six months ago.  He even took his trousers off to show us his prosthesis. 

So, that was our weekend and now it was time to pack up and head home. Then we reversed the process and picked up Sea-Enna and dropped off Ken on our way home.  

I GUESS THIS WILL BE OUR SCHEDULE FOR THE NEXT SIX WEEKS. 


  

NOW IT'S ON TO PREPPING THE BOAT FOR LAUNCH

The weather has improved, so it's time to get at it. 

Our daughter has agreed to look after Sea-Enna for us, so this weekend will be a work weekend at the boat.  

Dan and Ken will be repairing, filling, sanding and painting.   

I, on the other hand will be concentrating on sorting out the boat and putting things away.  I still have to finish that dinghy cover, once and for all.  This project has been plagueing me for a couple of years.  Plus I have plans for a new windshield cover that I have to work on as well.  

Plus I have to keep the workers fed.  So I will prep some stuff at home, then cook on the boat while we're out there. 

WE ALL HAVE OUR WORK CUT OUT FOR US 

A MISERABLE RAINY WEEKEND

I guess nothing much is being accomplished this weekend, except me working on our taxes.  

Not exactly exciting or interesting, so I'm inclined to avoid them, until I have nothing else to do.  But a necessity, so I keep them sitting on my desk staring me in the face.  

It's a miserable day, not a soul on the streets, the kind of weather that makes you feel like curling up in bed with a good book or good movie. I think I'll scroll through Netflix for something later, but meanwhile I better do a little entering on these taxes.
