OUR PULLOUT DATE HAS BEEN BOOKED

We went out to the hangar on the 11th and booked our pullout date.  Now comes the acceptance of the fact that our boating season is coming to a close for this year.  We are being pulled on Sept 24th.

Our Marina Fall wind-up Dinner is on this Saturday, the 13th so we will have one more week to kick around the harbour here, then the next week we will make our way up to Gimli for our pull out.

This is always a sad occasion for me, but I am starting to think about being back in Texas again.   We have some exciting changes coming for us there, that we are quite looking forward to.

TIME FOR A NEW BILGE PUMP - DIY

After all of the rain this summer our bilge pump has really been working overtime.  It is even starting to get a little iffy.  Having to be "wacked"every once in a while to get it going again.

So Dan put that on his todo list.  And today being windy and cold he decided to occupy himself by installing the new one.

THERE ARE ALWAYS CHORES TO BE DONE

ALL IN ALL IT WAS A PRETTY GOOD WEEKEND

Friday we got all our chores and shopping done. While it rained off and on with bright sunshine in between.  On the weekend we had lots of sunshine, but it was a little cool and windy out on the lake.

Dan's brother Dwight came out for another visit before he heads back to Florida.  Bonnie and Brad and Kaden were here as well.

So we did a couple of cruises on Saturday and Sunday.  Too cool for swimming, but we had a nice visit.

You can sure tell that fall is moving in as the geese honk their way across the sky when the sun starts to set.  And we wake up to a very foggy harbour early most mornings.

But we did get out for a couple of cruises that we all enjoyed.

SO THE NEXT TIME WE SEE DWIGHT WILL BE IN TEXAS

OMG! WHERE HAS THE SUMMER GONE!

We were very late getting the boat launched this year, due to extreme flooding all over the Province, which delayed our departure from Royal Manitoba Yacht Club.

Then once out here we only had a few nice weeks and now the weather has soured somewhat.  We only seem to be able to get 1 or 2 days in a row with boating weather.  Either the lake is calm, but it's dull and rainy.  Or it's sunny and warm , but the wind is up and so are the waves.  I'm afraid fall is creeping up on us.  Last night the wind was howling like fall.

So we have busied ourselves around the harbour.  Dan fixed my favourite chairs.  They have little flip-up side tables that had weathered badly.  So, he took them all apart and replaced the table tops with ridged fibre glass.

 I am very pleased.

So, that is what we will do for the rest of September, putter around with chores on the cool days, and enjoy the nice days whenever we are lucky enough to get them.

PULLOUT DAY IS COMING FAR TOO SOON.

THE LAST PART OF THE LAST LONG WEEKEND

Monday did improve as forecast.  It was a very pleasant, sun shiny day.

My daughter Elizabeth came out to join us.  We had a very nice visit.  Which was great that she would be there to drive Ken home and save us a trip into town.  So they both stayed through Tuesday and that made for an extra extra long weekend for Ken.

We did have a thunder storm that passed through, but it was over very quickly and left us with a beautiful rainbow.  Always nice to see.

And during the little rainy period, we always have WiFi and other Media, which everyone is quick to take advantage of.

So that was the last of our extra long, last long weekend.

We only have one more full month of our boating season left.  Then it will be time to turn our attention south to Texas.

THE LAST LONG WEEKEND

Here we are at the beginning of September already.

Our son Ken came out for the weekend.  This is the first chance he has had to get out here this summer.  He has been quite busy.

It was dull and rainy on Friday, but Saturday turned out to be a nice summery day.

We went out for a cruise.

And of course Sea-Enna went for a swim.  She loves to chase her "throw" in the water.

It was a little choppy though, so I didn't swim but Ken did.  Then we bobbed around out there and relaxed.  Soaking up the sun and having some drinks and snacks.

Today has turned all dull and rainy again, so I guess it's a curl up and read or watch TV kinda day, but tomorrow is supposed to improve.

We'll keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.

THE RESULTS ARE IN

Well, I have had my Aniogram and I have had a stint installed.  I feel fine, except for a sore arm.  I now have two more medications that I have to take. ( As if, I don't have enough already)

I was only in the hospital from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm.  I am home now, and heading off to the lake for the long weekend.  So I guess, now it's wait and see and hope I don't get anymore of those symptoms.

I HOPE EVERYONE HAS A GREAT LONG WEEKEND
