WE ARE FINALLY MAKING PROGRESS ON MY NEW KITCHEN

We have framed in  our utility closet.

I have pre-painted the wall where the first of the cabinets are going

Dan has installed my pantry.

.

It's beginning to look like a real kitchen.

WE MAY GET THIS FINISHED THIS YEAR AFTER ALL.

PIZZA NIGHT AT BOUNDARY CREEK YACHT CLUB

We had a fun Saturday Night at the BCYC Marina last night.  It was a "Pizza Night".  Now this is new to our marina and I have never attended one of these before, but it was really neat.

The marina supplied the dough, the sauce and pleanty of cheese.  Each couple was instructed to bring two of your favourite toppings.  Then you proceed to build your own pizza, as you like it and hand it in to the chef, Randy Swanson.

Who then puts it in the oven for you and lets you know when it's done.  He was certainly run off his feet, with this croud.
A JOB WELL DONE. RANDY! BRAVO!

There was a wonderful turnout for this event.  The clubhouse and both decks were full of our boaters.

The pizzas got a little backed up from time to time, but nobody minded, the wait.  It was just a good excuse to have a few drinks and socialize and catch up with all our marina friends.

WE HAD A GREAT TIME AND LOOK FORWARD TO MORE OF THE SAME.

SO, WHAT'S BEEN GOING ON.

It has been over 2 weeks since I have created a Blog.  And I still don't feel I have that much to tell.  I know I have been a little busy.

The Canada Day weekend, we spent at the marina, was very nice, but nothing unusual.

Last weekend was my sister Lorna's 80th Birthday with a family get together out in St. Francois Xavier.  Here she is with her three children.  David, Diane and Denis.

And with the rest of the family that has sprung from those three.

A very nice time and a chance to see so many people that we don't get to see often enough.

So here we are approaching the middle of July and I don't know where the summer is going.

I JUST KNOW IT'S STARTING TO FLY BY.

A BIT OF BOAT MAINTENANCE

Today Dan bought one of the canvas covers from the boat, home to have some maintenance done.

It's hard to believe that it has been over 6 years since I made this canvas cover for our fly bridge..

Since May of 2012, of course some of the snaps have come loose and some have broken.

So that is a simple chore for a liesurely afternoon.

So we got right at it and it was quickly and easily done.

NOW TO PUT IT BACK ON THE BOAT.

THE FINAL TOUCHES ON OUR NEW BATHROOM

We are finally getting around to the final touches on our new bathroom, that we put in last year.

There are 1960's acoustic tiles on the ceiling, which I have hated since day one, but couldn't find anything to cover them with.

Well, it turns out that there is a solid plywood ceiling under them, so the decision has been made to remove all the tiles and repair and paint the original plywood ceiling.

Then I will finally get to put up two of my nautical light fixtures that my daughter found for me.  I have two more for the kitchen as well.

I have re-wired and saved these for a number of years.  I can hardly wait. Does anyone besides me remember similar fixtures in the basement on 471 Lyndale Drive? ?

I AM GOING TO CALL OUR PLACE "ANCHOR INN"

EARLY SUMMER ACTIVITIES

First it was a fire ban in the area, then the rains came.  That cured the fire ban, but who wants to sit outside in the rain and cold.  Well now, I finally got to have my first camp fire in my new fire pit.  We even had a weeny roast on friday night with marshmellows and everything.

On Saturday we all went over to our son Jim's for a Bar-B-Q get together.  With Jim and Rachelle and their boys Alex and Matthew.

There was also my oldest grandson Dayne and his special lady, Jessica.

As well as his brother Blake and his wife Mel.

Plus of course their parents, my daughter Wendy and his husband Murray.

Then of course these are the old folks that started this clan.

We all missed the other two of our children, Ken and Tracy Elizabeth that didn't come.  It was a very nice time for those that did attend and nice to see everyone together.

Even the puppie dogs in attendance had a great time, begging.

Thanks Jim and Rachelle,

WE WILL HAVE TO DO THIS AGAIN SOON.

THUNDERBIRD LAUNCH 2018

It was launch day on Thursday.  We went to the hangar early to prepare our lines and bumpers then waited for the trailer

The old girl has had her annual new coat of bottom paint. and is ready for the water.

And right on time here comes the trailer to haul her down to Gimli harbour.

The trailer is slipped under her as easy as that.

And away she goes for another summer season.

HAPPY BOATING AND HAPPY SUMMER TO EVERYONE
