WHAT HAPPEN TO THE SPRING?

I was so happy last week, and now I'm not.  Last week the weather was so nice, I felt I was making such good progress, cleaning and pooper scooping my yard.  Looking forward to spring.  Digging out my Spring decorations that I like to spread around at this time of the year to cheer me on.

NOW LOOK WHATS HAPPENED!

I have got more snow in my yard than I have had all winter.

I have been hibernating the last three days watching it accumulate.  I feel very defeated.

So, I am trying to buck up my spirits and my energy to face the chores ahead.  First I have to dig out my parka.  (which I packed away)  I have to find my snow boots   (which I packed away) I have to make my way out to the garage to find a snow shovel.  (which I packed away in the garage) un pack my snow blower (which I packed away in the garage) Clear off my car which I didn't put away in the garage, because I was sure this was going to be just a spring like dusting of snow.  ggggrrr.

I AM NOT PLEASED!!

I GUESS THIS TOO WILL PASS.

MY POOR FLOWERS

Everyone that reads my blog knows that when we bought this place, I swore I would not get as heavily involved in gardening as I did at our Henderson Highway property.  (see "I USED TO HAVE BEAUTIFUL GARDENS" Sept 11, 2017)    Well, the urge to get back into it has crept up on me again here and there even though I am trying to control it.  So, the other morning when I went out to the yard this is what I found.

This was a cute little creation full of trailing pink petunias spilling out of a stack of tipped pots that I had copied from someone's idea on line.  And it was doing quite well until that morning.  And I wondered what kind of insect had gotten to it, but couldn't see anything crawling on it.  And a duplicate of the same plants was not affected.

Well, this is what I found when I got up this morning.

Obviously, the deer have discovered my yard and are going after my annuals.  Any suggestions other than barbed wire, that I can use to keep them from my plants??

HELP!!

I REALLY MADE SOME HEADWAY THIS WEEK

My son Jim brought his electric mower out here for me.

I hate gas mowers as much as I hate outboard motors.
.

I got busy and got the whole yard cut.  All by myself.

I even got my bedding plants planted.  I just need a few more.

I'M QUITE PLEASED WITH MYSELF.

THEN AND NOW

This picture recently appeared as a memory on my Facebook page.

(Jim, Wendy and Ken, backed by Tracy Elizabeth and me. )

And shortly after my son-in-law captured this picture of the same culprits out for a visit with me.

I am proud and so lucky to have the support of my children at this time.
